Summary of application for review published on 22 January 2013. By an Order of the President, made on 22 January 2013, the time for applying for permission to intervene was abridged until 12 noon on 28 January 2013. A first Case Management Conference was held on 29 January 2013 before the Chairman. On 30 January 2013 the Chairman made (i) an Order fixing the timetable and procedure for the remainder of the proceedings up to and including the main hearing, and granting Metlac Holding S.r.L. and Metlac S.p.A. permission to intervene, and (ii) an Order establishing a confidentiality ring.

The main hearing took place on 18 and 19 April 2013. The Tribunal’s judgment was handed down on 21 June 2013.

On 24 July 2013, the Chairman made an Order in relation to costs. On 6 August 2013, the Chairman made an Order refusing Akzo Nobel’s (Akzo) application for permission to appeal, but extending, by seven days, the period in which Akzo may renew its application in the Court of Appeal. On 31 October 2013 the Court of Appeal granted Akzo permission to appeal the Tribunal's judgment of 21 June 2013.

On 14 April 2014 the Court of Appeal handed down its judgment dismissing Akzo’s appeal.
