An application by Robert Hammond, the proposed class representative ("PCR"), to commence collective proceedings under section 47B of the Competition Act 1998 ("the CPO Application").  The proposed collective proceedings would combine standalone claims against (1) Amazon.com Inc., (2) Amazon EU S.à.r.l., (3) Amazon Services Europe S.à.r.l., (4) (3) Amazon Europe Core S.à.r.l., and (5) (4) Amazon UK Services Ltd for loss and damage caused by alleged breaches of statutory duty contrary to section 18 of the Competition Act 1998 and/or Article 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (prior to 31 December 2020), which prohibit the abuse of a dominant position in a market.

A hearing took place on 20 December 2023. The Tribunal issued a Judgment on the carriage dispute (in relation to cases 1568/7/7/22 and 1595/7/7/23) on 5 February 2024 ([2024] CAT 8).

By order of the Chair, the Third Proposed Defendant was removed on 27 September 2024 as a party to the proceedings upon the merger of the Third Proposed Defendant with the Fourth Proposed Defendant on 1 August 2024. 

A joint certification hearing with case 1644/7/7/24 took place on 6 - 8 May 2025. The Tribunal issued a Judgment on certification on 24 July 2025 ([2025] CAT 42).
