Dame Kelyn Bacon DBE was called to the Bar in 1998 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2014, specialising in competition and EU law throughout her career as a barrister. She was elected as a governing bencher of the Inner Temple in 2015. In 2017 she was appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge, and in October 2020 she was appointed as a High Court Judge in the Chancery Division. She hears cases across the whole range of Business and Property Courts work, as well as sitting in the Competition Appeal Tribunal, Upper Tribunal Tax and Chancery Chamber and the Patents Court. From February 2022 to February 2025, she was the President of the Upper Tribunal Tax and Chancery Chamber.
