This case is one of a number of cases transferred to the Tribunal from the High Court pursuant to an Order of the Chancellor of the High Court dated 7 April 2022 (the “Transfer Order”). The Transfer Order was subsequently varied by an Order of the High Court made by Mr Justice Marcus Smith on 28 June 2022.

All cases transferred to the Tribunal pursuant to the Transfer Order involve claims against entities in the Visa and/Mastercard group of companies in respect of alleged interchange fee overcharges.

On 4 July 2022, the President made an Order designating this case as a “Host Case” pursuant to Practice Direction 2/2022 (Umbrella Proceedings). Ubiquitous Matters (as defined in the Practice Direction) arising in this case will be disposed of in Umbrella Proceedings (also defined in the Practice Direction) listed under Case 1517/11/7/22 (UM): Merchant Interchange Fee Umbrella Proceedings.

On 31 May 2023, an Order of the President granted permission for pre-service amendments to the Claim Form and extended the deadline for service to 2 June 2023.
